Dear visitor !

My name is Jyrki Kautto.

Wellcome to my humble site...i am more painter than bloody net geek...so these pages look like shit and digital images of my paintings are lousy...maybe some day i can afford me a CAMERA...            

My paintings shown in gallery are mostly oil on canvas and some of them are made partly during my studies in Free Art School in Helsinki, Finland.

Airbrushed stuff is made in my garage...my bikes end up quite multicolor painted eventually...

I graduated as a painter May 2009 and still learning...maybe it takes rest of my life to become a PAINTER...

Most of the paintings shown are not finished yet... i am not totally satisfied with them at present stage and trying to find some time to detail them to my satisfaction.

At a moment i am working as a decorative painter... painting landscapes, stage setups etc. to somehow fund my making of "serious art"...

You may call it "lowbrow art" or whatever, bikes, hotrods and tattooed people are so big part of my life that i just cant ignore it.

I could paint colourful abstract or expressionist shit if i just wanted. (Tried it once...brush on the right hand and quarter of rotgut down into my system...outcome wasn´t really worth of that hangover...and that painting didn´t stand out from the hordes of finnish neo expressionist paintings...)

If painting does not have something solid, something you can see and appreciate whithout knowing theoretical shit learned in art schools around, its not even worth of paint spent on that canvas.

I like to paint for "common people" not for fellow painters or godlike art critics who are tangled up on color theories and academic idioms... and dont really know a shit what happens in a real world...

REALISM is still alive and eventually Kicks your ass !
